Job title: Account Manager
Location: Reading
Contracted hours: 40+ per week
Salary: Negotiable depending on experience (Circa £30-50,000 per annum OTE, plus benefits package.

As a result of our continued growth and the development of our business, we are now seeking to appoint an experienced Account Manager to join our team. Integral to the job will be to successfully manage, develop and grow our business with the account/s managed. Project Resource Ltd has several very exciting growth opportunities that require dedicated management. It will be integral to this job that over time a larger team is put together and managed, to ensure optimum delivery to this client, and potentially other clients.
This job will have key performance indicators (KPIs). It is expected that key account/s will be developed to maintain our company’s growth and our name as a premier supplier of staff to employers in the industries we deliver.
This job will report directly into our Reading Office Manager. You will have the support of our Client Services Manager, Company Directors, and from an initial delivery perspective the whole company resourcing capability.
Initially, you will be directly responsible for overseeing one coveted and high profile account (more as time, experience, and team ability and size warrant), ensuring client expectations and recruitment specific SLA’s are met (exceeded), whilst simultaneously maintaining the integrity of the Project Resource Ltd as a well respected premier brand.
You will work closely with the team (company wide) to co-ordinate and manage jobseeker candidates through the recruitment process. You will also be responsible for building and managing employer relationships, attending and directing meetings, reporting results to the client and delivering on specialist recruitment needs.
This role is initially account management only, but longer term has the capacity to include new business development and management, depending on the skills of the Account Manager, and team around them.
Responsibilities
- To work within our existing permanent team, to establish a solid working framework for optimum delivery to the client;
- Grow and develop a team around you, as demand and profitability permit;
- Work closely with our team to explore business opportunities with our existing clients;
- Look to generate new business from existing clients’;
- Look to generate new business from new clients’;
- Generate the right mix of jobseekers, new and repeat business that delivers a profitable mix of business in line with agreed targets;
- Management of the recruitment process from start for finish;
- Deliver compelling and professional proposals that generate profitable business;
- Ensure compliance with all internal procedures/ processes, external regulations and legislation;
- Take ownership and liaise with your line Manager, to ensure constructive personal development;
- Assist with the coaching and development of colleagues where required; and
- Maintain comprehensive and current knowledge of your clients, market and key commercial trends.
Essential experience required
- Experienced working for another recruitment agency/ business as a Permanent Division Recruitment Consultant or Account Manager/ Account Handler/ Business Development Consultant;
- Experience of Managing a large (25,000+ employees + or 1000+ job vacancies per year) national blue chip/ FTSE company;
- Demonstration of successfully delivering to a client (achieving repeat business, growth in placements made and profit obtained and repeat selection for PSL supply year on year);
- Proven track record of placing jobseekers in permanent and/or contract jobs;
- Historic monthly billings (£) with current/ past employer should be in excess of £10,000 per month on average (ideally above £20,000 per month average);
- Experience of generating your own leads (via networking, client relationship development, etc.) and job opportunities;
- Experience of performance reporting (internal & external) and putting feedback to the relevant people to better performance;
- Experience of training, developing and managing a successful recruitment team.
- Professional disposition, articulate, high attention to detail, and exemplary customer service approach;
- Outgoing, friendly, focussed and hard working;
- Sensible, with clear life goals, career minded and completely success motivated;
- The ability to be self critical; and
- Ability to demonstrate achievement beyond your peer group.
Desirable experience required
- Exposure one or some of the following industries: Building, Civil Engineering, Railway or Infrastructure (Highways, Water and Energy);
- Experience of supplying into the industries we specialise;
- Good face-to-face ability and experience;
- Ability to lead and grow a team (short or long-term).
